Greetings everyone!
If you have stumbled upon this little blog of mine, you will find a artistic, fun loving, and currently religiously confused, little bit eccentric person. I'm currently on a spiritual journey to figure out what I believe in, and where it, and I, fit in this world. So I'll be posting things I find, my exploration on being a newbie garden, mother, and wife. Plus anything else I find interesting such as anything to do with herbal remedies and such. ^_^
So In the light of the recent holiday, which most people don't even remember is a holiday, I'll post a few things on Lammas and what my family and I are doing to celebrate it and what it means to me and my family! (I know I'm a day late, but it's the thought that counts) and to make things clear, I do believe in Christ, but I believe in the traditions of the wiccan holidays, for labeling sake, I guess I'd be called a Christian Witch, but I don't really like that label.
So my daughter, my mother, and I popped popcorn and said the Lord prayer over it. My daughter ran back and forth between my mother and I feeding us popcorn, she's a year old. I proceeded to catch popcorn in the air and she giggled uncontrollably.
In light of the rainstorm, I lit candles in the house and let the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon fill the house, the smells I associate with fall, and put up my fall and harvest decorations. I visited the garden and giggled with glee at the peppers, jalapenos, corn, carrots, and zucchini that is growing so fast ( I planted late so it'll be a late harvest)
Then I went over to a friends house and helped her put it back into order, and we talked about our regrets of the past year, and what we hope for the last part of it. What we've learned from those regrets.
I love fall, to me it's the promise of crisp air after a hot summer. Of beautiful colors that fill nature, and of the upcoming holidays. It's hunting and meat and fall drinks. It's playing in the leaves and canning the harvest and making crab apple jelly with my mother and now my little girl. It's saying good bye to the geese as they fly over head to warmer climates. It simply is, my favorite time of year.
